Four stroke reciprocating engine is a lot of internal combustion engines which frequently used in industrial world. The engine used at steel manufacture and chemical plant factory is maintained based on CBM to keep the manufacturing efficiency. Therefore, a more highly accurate equipment diagnosis technology is desired. The purpose of my work was to have experimentally examined abnormal state of reciprocating engine and possibility of identification of abnormal signal element generated in that case. This paper reports on my work, the signals on normal state and abnormal one of the diagnosed engine obtained by acceleration pickups, and AE sensors, a condenser microphone have been, and analyzed. As a result, abnormality that occurred in the reciprocating engine has been reproduced, the basic finding associated with the characteristic of abnormal signal has been obtained. The results indicate that presumable abnormality of reciprocating engine.
