"Temae" of Japanese Tea Ceremony is a technique to prepare beverage of Tea, and the body motion is valued for beauty. However the cause of beauty is unclear, and it has not been formal knowledge. In this study, motion analysis of "Temae" was performed to reveal the cause of beauty in an expert. As the results, characteristics of motion in "chadou temae" included that 1). motion of whole body is stopped when formal behavior is shown to the guest. 2). to carry out "temae" exactly and smoothly, a device is looked carefully when it is picked up, 3). in order to show motion continuously and smoothly, either right or left hand is in motion moving at all times, 4). A basic posture of setting is one broken to pick up a device, then immediately return to pre posture.
