Non-contact control technology utilizing acoustic radiation pressure (ARP) has been researched in various fields. This research deals with non-contact vibration control utilizing ARP. According to previous researches, the basic characteristics of ARP had been clarified. In this paper, the vibration damping effect by ARP is investigated. A simple pendulum is located between two vibrators facing each other and is subjected to ARP generated by them. Changing the gap distance between vibration surfaces and the pendulum, the pendulum possesses damped or unstable vibration due to ARP characteristics. Moreover, active vibration control by modulating oscillating current for vibrations is also applied by using feed back control law. The presented feed back control system showed good damping effect. These control characteristics are also investigated infrequency domain by using a pendulum subjected to forced oscillation.
