A clean room is often used for ultra-precision machining. In such cases, the small vibration caused by sound pressure lowers the processing accuracy. The perforated panel, focused on in this research, can improve the orifice effect and reduce sound pressure level by addition of steady flow through the panel. This research aimed to verify the sound absorption effect in three-dimensional acoustic field. First, the effect was predicted theoretically via the sound absorption mechanism of a perforated panel. Next, the analysis result was confirmed by experiment. Consequently, the feasibility of sound absorption perforated panel was proved.
