Abstract

Recently, industrial equipments and communication equipments have advanced recently and the equipments need high reliability of electric power. However, they sometimes suffer damages from momentary voltage drop caused by lightning. In order to solve the problems, we have proposed a flywheel energy storage system with superconducting magnetic bearing. It has many advantages such as long life, high energy density and low loss. In addition, we attempt to introduce a bearing support type flywheel energy storage system and expect good result of high rotational speed and low loss. This paper discusses simulation results of focusing the distance between center of gravity and support and experiment result of designing flywheel by using the best condition.
