In this study, the safety and stability of one vehicle train considering wheel profile and track irregularity is examined. Railway vehicles are becoming lighter and are running at high speeds, so it is necessary to discuss their safety and stability. Also, we have the in the numerical approach problem that occurs when we use Hertzian theory in the vicinity of curvature change point. If the contact surface formed multiple arc such as wheel tread, the contact ellipse is not correct form because Hertzian theory takes into a point contact. Therefore we cannot calculate correct contact force in the vicinity of curvature change point. From these research, the following conclusions are obtained. The magnitude of contact force and contact angle affect the safety and stability. As lateral creep force of arc profile is bigger than one of conical profile, the speed of lateral displacement convergence of arc profile is faster and, as a result, more stability than conical profile. Yet conical profile is better than arc profile as for the safety because lateral force change of arc profile is bigger than one of conical profile. Regarding the problem of Hertzian theory, by using the ratio of diameter of contact ellipse, we can resolve it in ways. However, further consideration will be needed to yield any findings about using the ratio of diameter of contact ellipse.
