Cylinder pipe is used in a wide variety of situations. Pipe plays a role of transporting fluids such as liquids and gases mainly from equipment to equipment. But it is sometimes excited by a rotating machine connected to it and fluid inside pipe, causing problems such as fatigue damage and vibration noise due to resonance. To solve these problem, you may control plumbing vibration by attaching viscoelastic materials as damping materials around cylinder pipe. For this design method, we have suggested a vibration analysis model of plumbing that viscoelastic damping materials are attached to, by modeling the influence of damping materials which give for plumbing vibration as added mass and added damping, and incorporating these in a 1-dimensional plumbing bending vibration analysis model. In this report, we attempt to suppress the cylinder pipe's vibration by letting the viscoelastic material act as a dynamic vibration absorber. For pipe and viscoelastic damping material, we model single-degree-of-freedom by mode analysis, and design shape parameter of viscoelastic materials using fixed point theory. By this method, we propose optimum design guideline for viscoelastic damping material.
