This paper deals with suppression characteristics of sloshing and visualization of vortex-generating flow in a rectangular vessel with a bulkhead. In this study, suppression characteristic of sloshing is clarified experimentally and vortex-generating flow is visualized. As a result of visualizing and classifying the flow of the liquid in a rectangular vessel at the resonance of sloshing, three flow patterns were observed and sloshing is suppressed. Moreover, the swirling flow play an important role in reducing the natural frequency and the resonance response of sloshing, and the energy of sloshing is dissipated by the vortex shedding.
