Abstract
This paper discusses improved methods for collaborative design projects utilizing computer networks. Advances in networking technology have enabled physically separated designers to cooperate effectively via computer networks, from the very beginning of a project until the final outcome. However, since network environments present certain unique problems, it is often impossible to use conventional design methods. Thus, collaborative design in networked environments requires the construction of a new methodology. Here, designer interaction is modeled, and a system is developed to enable more creative collaborative design.
