When tourists make a free trip to visit unfamiliar places, itinerary planning to see around the place is sometimes required on an ad-hoc manner. Planning may be based on personal criteria, such as preferences, costs, allotted days for the trip. Freedom of planning gives pleasure of trip to tourists, but failure of trip may be caused by a trip without an appropriate plan. The paper proposes a route planning method using genetic algorithm as a solution to TSP problems, and applies the method to itinerary planning system called OHENRO NAVIGATOR which is under development by the authors. The paper presents the basic idea of the method and shows some of the results in itinerary planning.
