Various new models of skis are sold on the market every year. The developments of the skis depend on the experience of a designer and the comments of a tester who carried out a perception test on the snow slope. In recent years, a ski turn simulation has been developed and a design approach has been proposed for the modification of a ski. The proposed approach consists of the ski turn simulation and the inverse analysis method (sensitivity analysis). In the present study, by using the proposed approach, a prototype ski was modified by tuning the thickness and the position of shoe center of the ski into an objective ski. From the above-mentioned numerical calculations it follows that one can efficiently modify the prototype ski by using the proposed approach.
