The conceptual design phase contains uncertain design variables, and therefore the analysis using finite element method (FEM) is difficult to apply to this phase. We propose a set-based FEM based on the preference set-based design method, which is possible to analyze structures in the conceptual design phase. This paper presents the applicability of the proposed method by applying to structural analysis of a truss.
