We are developing the product design and the evaluation support system that evaluates the product from a multi viewpoint (procurement, manufacturing, and environment, etc.) by using BOM (Bill of Materials) of the product. This system has aimed to achieve shortening at the product development period. This system cooperates with two or more evaluation tools to evaluate BOM. The requirement to cooperate is the following. (1) The evaluation operation can be automated. (2) When the problem is found, the design improvement can be supported. (3) The registered evaluation can regularly be executed. The case and the effect of applying this system to the design work of the IT equipment are shown.
