2202 Emerging Synthesis of Design Process Knowledge and Its Application

Abstract

Emerging synthesis and reusing system of experts engineering design process knowledge has been developed. The implemented knowledge based system provides experts work procedures with flow chart and relating information such as constraints and conditions or engineering rationale. The system enables junior engineers to follow the best-in-class work done by veterans. The results have shown a substantial effect on design skill transfer support.
