The research purpose is to assist engineers by providing digital data of engineering know-how and technology. The target manufacturing method is arc welding, which depends substantially on personal skill on the shop floor. The XML database of arc welding case has been developed and applied to examine the variations of data among the cases according to the welding process patterns and welding engineers. The case database of welding is now made public on the Internet to be used by web browser. In the paper, we propose a software system in which user can compare his/her welding cases with the cases in the database. The system has a feature without sending user data and the information sharing system is also discussed.
