A design method for thermal stress relaxation of multi layered structures is established. This method employs shape and topology optimization techniques. In the shape optimization, arbitrary lagragean eulerian method is used to deform an design object shape. Then, a virtual structural analysis induced traction forces is implemented to decide the object deformation. The traction forces adopt design variables of the shape optimization. In the topology optimization, a new design for thermal stress relaxation is acquired by using the density method. To verify the design method, three-layered cooling structure is designed.
