抄録
"Idea design and production contest" is the group work carried out in Yamagata University. This group work is one of study themes within the PBL-type educational program named "Design of Engineering", and executed since 2004. The groups of students try to design and produce the machine to compete keeping regulation. Students cultivate their independency, planning quality, cooperativeness and fundamental ability of mechanical engineering by practical design and production of machine. The competition is quite effective to keep motivation of students.
