This paper presents collaboration between a textile manufacturing company in Malaysia and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. In this Company-University Collaboration (CUC), an engineering student was assigned with a task to implement value stream mapping (VSM) to support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing (LM) tool in the company. The task is targeted to be completed in six to nine months. In this paper, the development of current and future state map of the company is described. Identification of waste based on current state map is shown and improvement via future state map is elaborated. As a conclusion, the collaboration is proven to be feasible in supporting VSM implementation in the textile manufacturing company.
