On a study of DR-CALUX bioassay method as a simple analysis method of dioxins, the present method was confirmed to be useful as an evaluation method of environmental samples, from viewing of the analytical results using certain dioxin-like compounds. In comparing actual measured values of various environmental samples by DR-CALUX bioassay method with values measured by HRGC/HRMS method, it was confirmed that DR-CALUX bioassay method is suitable for screening and monitoring, with good correlation to HRGC/HRMS method, and also, useful as an analysis method for supplementing HRGC/HRMS method. Furthermore, by adopting a simple pre-treatment procedure, this technology is available to analyze a large number of samples in a short term, with high sensitivity and low cost.
