Abstract
This study aims to develop and evaluate a desiccant ventilation system, using desiccant rotors of the Wakkanai siliceous shale (WSS), combined with heat pump system by using exhaust heat for regeneration process. An integrated unit combining desiccant ventilation system which applies to WSS as desiccant material and heat pump for space heating, cooling and hot water supply is invented. The heat pump supplies heat and cold energy into the desiccant unit to increase the amount of dehumidification. This study aims to evaluate cooling and dehumidifying performance of the integrated system. As a result, the unit dehumidified 2.2〜7.8 g/kg_<DA> and cooled air by 5.8 kW in the weather assuming areas around Tokyo. It was under the condition that 21〜25 ℃ pre-cooling and 32〜44 ℃ regeneration of desiccant. COP marked 4.2〜5.8.
