In recent years in the field of electricity, we will make a proposal to solve the problem of heat generation in power transmission lines stretched all over the world and the waste of fossil fuels due to power loss in transmission. The cause of heat generation is that Joule heat is generated in the transmission line through which a large current flows due to a slight resistance in the metal of the electric wire used for power transmission. Electromagnetic waves that do not transmit electricity through metals do not generate Joule heat. Electromagnetic waves are generated by applying voltage to air. Since the resistance of air is infinite, current does not flow, and electromagnetic waves propagate in the air. Conduction current and electromagnetic waves are explained, and the waveguide that propagates electromagnetic waves is qualitatively explained from the equations of the waveguide configuration. The current loss due to power lines is said to be about 5%. As a countermeasure against the problem of global warming and the waste of fossil fuels, we propose power transmission by waveguide.
