Abstract
Wave energy is one of the most expected renewable energy resources. A floating point-absorber of wave energy is useful for the offshore powerful wave energy. In this paper, we studied the optimal control method for the wave energy converter in the waves. We employed the Approximate Complex-Conjugate Control (ACC) as the base control strategy, which has been studied in Europe. First, we developed the numerical simulator of the two-body heaving system by solving the movement equations with the Newmark-β methods. Second, we searched the optimal parameters which makes the efficiency of conversion largest by testing various values for regular waves. As a result, it was found that the optimal parameters depends on wave period.
