The thermal spraying is a technique of suface modification that forms coatings with a superior function. But,the coatings have a weak adhension strength to substrates. To improve adhension strength the substrates need to be blasted in their pre-treatment. This report aimes at the evaluation of roughened surfaces which are blasted by the different grid size to control rougheness of substrate surfaces. Surface roughness and flactal dimension are used to evaluate substrate surfaces. As a result,grit size effected remarkably on surface roughness,while it had a little effect on flactal dimension.
