Structural steel can obtain good mechanical properties by applying a heat treatment. However, the center area of the large diameter structural steel is often not sufficiently transformed martensite structure because of its size effect. In the present study, using the Cr-Mo steel (φ48), the mechanical properties of the local part was compared with that of the whole part.
