In the design of sports equipment, vibration damping is important issues. In this study, the damping effects of
thermoplastic elastomers(TPEs) were investigated to apply TPEs to the vibration damping materials. TPEs are physical mixtures of polymers(plastics and rubbers). They are expected to apply to the vibration damping materials for sports equipment due to good processability. A vibration measurement system was newly developed to evaluate the vibration properties of tennis rackets. Effect of TPEs on natural vibration mode of tennis rackets was confirmed from the measurement results.
