Often, elementary school teachers who teach arts and crafts do not have an education in arts. Therefore, no common evaluation standard exists for arts and crafts classes, and teachers assign grades based on their own standards. These standards are often based on their hobbies and interests, and therefore, their students may not receive a fair evaluation. Owing to this, elementary school students tend to dislike arts and crafts. In this study, we focused on inductive logic programming (ILP) and measured the gaze of art education experts, children, and elementary school teachers while they were viewing children's drawings. ILP helps construct generalized rules based on specific observed cases. Further, ILP was used to analyze the gaze behavior patterns of the participants. Based on the experimental results obtained, ILP was applied using the "background of gaze point," "gazing time," "location of gazing points," and "moving distance of gazing points". We obtained gazing behavior patterns that applied to the experts but not to the children, along with those that could be applied to the experts but not to the elementary school teachers. Thus, we could clarify the differences in gazing behavior patterns between experts and elementary school teachers in arts and crafts education.
