Because both special structure and the complicated vapor-liquid two-phase flow process of the once-through steam generator (OTSG) is limited, the OTSG needs to set a special start-up system. The simulation model of the OTSG is established after reasonable simplifying the system. And the operational characteristics of the different feedwater projects on dry start-up condition are simulated based on JTopmeret. The result shows the steam parameter fluctuates wildly and the flow instability affects evidently for the dry start-up project with the constant feedwater, which induce large fluid pressure fluctuation and vibration. For the variable feedwater project, the operation of the start-up system is more stable and has higher efficiency of using the new steam. And the vibration and pressure fluctuation is lower.
