The Preliminary Study on Valve Reliability of the Nuclear Power Plant

This paper illustrates the actual failure characteristics and maintenance of the valve products, through the collection of failure data for safety related important valve specific failure modes in nuclear power plants. This paper analyses the failure mechanism of valve products preliminarily and summarizes the impact of valve product failure rate on importance analysis, risk analysis and other PSA analysis, through the comparison between the actual failure data of the safety-related valves in the nuclear power plant and the reliability data of the general databases such as NUREG6928 or EPS900MW to 1300MW. This paper also explains the effect of the initial reliability of valve products on safety production and power generation efficiency of the nuclear power plants preliminarily.
