A synthetic jet is a novel zero-net mass flux device which synthesizes its jet from the surrounding fluid. Normally, fluid suction and ejection take place through the orifice opening during a synthetic jet actuation. However, In the present experimental study, effort has been made to investigate a synthetic jet actuator with multiple suction inlets (i.e., orifice and non-return valves (NRVs) openings) but having a single outlet (i.e., orifice opening). Experiments are performed with 8- and 16- NRVs equipped with SJ actuator on the depth plate and results are compared with no-NRVs case (d =10 mm) at Re = 7220. Here, heat transfer characteristics are studied using IR camera and flow velocity is captured using Hot-wire anemometry. The results show that when NRVs are equipped with SJ actuator, it inhales the fresh ambient fluid through the NRVs on the depth plate. So, fresh intake of ambient fluid decreases the recirculation effect and enhances the heat transfer rate at lower surface spacings (z/d =1-4). At z/d =1, the respective increase in heat transfer rate of 8- and 16-NRVs equipped SJ impingement is found to be 24% and 32.7 % higher as compared to no-NRVs case.
