Abstract
Using the technology of coal-water slurry (CWS) combustion, the 220t/h oil-fired boilers in Maoming Cogeneration Power Plant and Shantou Wanfeng Cogeneration Power Co., Ltd. in Guangdong have been successfully changed into CWS- fired boilers. The performance indices of the modified boilers are satisfactory, minimal load for stable combustion being 40% of the rated load, boiler heat efficiency higher than 90%, combustion efficiency higher than 99%, investment recovery period shorter than 1 year. With washed treated coal as the raw material, CWS is of much lower sulfur and ash content than raw coal, which makes the SO_2 and dust emission concentration lower than local standards of Guangdong. The low-temperature combustion mode of CWS also enables lower (NO)_x emission concentration than coal firing. All these contribute greatly to environmental protection. It can be confirmed that the reformation is of considerable economic and social benefits.
