Recently, the power supplying devices for the ubiquitous in formation devices require miniaturization and low environmental load. As example of ubiquitous information devices, portable digital measurement instruments like digital tape measure and micrometer caliper are produced commercially. In this study, automatic power generating unit for the digital tape measure was developed. In the first phase, the feasibility study was done by making the macro-model and performance of the macro-model was evaluated to achieve guidelines of optimal design. In the second phase, the examination of the miniaturization and the evaluation of the performance of an automatic generating unit was examined by making the 2nd trial unit based on the optimum, design.
