Abstract
As examples of recent research on the head/disk interface (HDI), the following topics are introduced: (i) analyses of dynamics of flying head considering van der Waals force (one degree-of-freedom (1-DOF) model, 2-DOF model, and two dimensional pressure distribution), (ii) analyses of flying characterstics of head slider considering liquid (lubricant) surface deformation, and (iii) dynamics of liquid meniscus bridge.
