The plasma-chemical hybrid process has been developed for complete NOx and SOx removal. In the plasma process, NOx is oxidized to NO_2 using nonthermal plasma. In the chemical process, NO_2 is reduced to N_2 and Na_2SO_4 using Na_2SO_3, and SO_2 is reduced to Na_2SO_3 using NaOH. This hybrid process showed almost 100% NOx and SOx simultaneous removal with less than 7 ppm of N_2O and CO if 30 times of stoichiometric amount of chemicals were used. The ratio of spraying liquid to flue gas volume influenced NOx reduction at larger flue gas volume.
