This paper describes the development of flywheel energy recovery system. There are two purposes. One is to design compact equipment for practical use, another one is to numerically calculate coefficient of CVT (Continuously Various Transmissions). At the beginning, CVT mechanism is analyzed and stress distribution of contact surface is calculated by Hertz theory, then EHL (Elastic Hydrodynamic Lubrication) theory is used to get the thickness of oil form. After that, the creep generated between the contact objects is calculated by an clastic-plastic model. Through calculating speed loss and torque loss, we received the coefficient of CVT.
