Abstract
Characteristics of oil-lubricated spiral grooved thrust bearings are investigated theoretically and experimentally with focusing on temperature and pressure distributions in this paper. The values of fall of pressure in the bearing clearance are measured when rotating shaft of our experimental apparatus in order to estimate the raise of temperature. The analytical results, which is calculated by application of energy equation and Reynolds equation to our model, agree well with experimental datum.
