Ball Way is a mechanical element used in linear moving parts of machine tools. And, the improvement in it's durability is expected to escalate the demand more from now on. So, particle projection processing being used with the purpose such as durability improvement was used as the surface modification method by this study. By performing surface processing, the durability of Ball Way improves.And as for the improvement in the durability by particle projection processing, the rate of an improvement becomes high as contact pressure becomes high. The experiment showed that it was suggested that particle projection processing which can improve a fatigue life under high contact pressure can be used as a surface treatment with which the fall of the life resulting from the rise of contact pressure accompanying the miniaturization of a-Ball Way is compensated.
