Abstract

In operating an energy supply system, it is important to determine the operational strategy for constituent equipment properly based on predicted energy demands. It is also necessary to determine the operational strategy so that it is robust against the uncertainty in energy demands. An optimization method based on the minimax regret criterion has been proposed for robust optimal operation of energy supply systems based on prediction of energy demand interval. In this paper, this method is applied to annual operation planning of a district heating and cooling system, and its validity and effectiveness are ascertained through case studies.
