21201 教科書が教えないエンジニアとその魅力 : SPPで取り組んだブルネルについて(OS1 機械技術史・工学史,オーガナイズドセッション)

抄録

We, Soma High School Students, are studying on English engineer whose name is Isambard Kingdom Brunei. We have not known his name before that we began the research on Atmospheric Railway developed by Brunei. His name has been not taught in school lessons. We now could understand his works in steam railways, bridges design, steam ships design, tunnels, hotels, etc. We surprised that the prefab hospital in the Crimean War had been designed by Brunei too. He had not applied to patents even though he invented and produced many things. This also surprised us. We are studying about science for connecting our interest in monodzukuri in Japan. The project SPP (Science Partnership Project) of our high school gives us a lot of intentions for knowing person, science, engineering, and monodzukuri.
