A special three-year educational program for master-course students was conducted at Graduate School of Science and Engineering in Saitama University. It covered various fields of mechanical engineering and focused on advanced manufacturing for optical industries. To achieve the educational goals, "Global Nano Fabrication (GNF)" course was set up and thirteen students were selected each year from those in Mechanical Engineering and Mechno-Robitics courses. This program was supported by RIKEN, regional industries and Saitama Prefecture. It was characterized by two internships; one was conducted in companies and the other was conducted in RIKEN. Two intensive lectures by instructors from companies and researchers from RIKEN were also arranged.
