This paper presents the results of experimental study on the electrostatic separation of mixture consisting of binary plastic and paper. The principle behind the separation technique is based on the difference in Coulomb force acting on the particles after corona charging. The charged particles are fed into the center of the space between the four electrodes. The falling trajectory of highly charged particle is different from that of lowly charged particle. Therefore, the plastic mixtures can be separated as a result of the different positions to which they fall. The separation tests were performed on a sheet-like sample containing PET and PS plastics and papers. In this study, PET particles are separated from the mixture. It was found that the separation efficiency depends on the projection angle and the applied voltage to the electrode.
