A pressure tank is widely used in many equipment of the industrial equipment. We have been developing the protective cover for the cast-metal pressure tank in order to enhance its safety. The cover is made of synthetic fiber and resin. The impact test is performed to evaluate the effect of the protective cover for our testing tank. The flying object is the metal bullet with a weight of 100 [g]. The bullet is shot at the speed of 100 [m/s] by the air cannon at the cast-metal plate of height 100 [mm] and width 100 [mm] with the protective cover. The fracture analysis using finite-element method for the test has been carried out. We confirmed that the plate fragments are produced from area roughly the diameter of cross section of the flying object and that the cover with thickness in more than 2 [P.U.] has the effect of the prevention from scattering the fragments of the plate.
