Density stratification is formed in the natural environment like lake water system due to the temperature difference of surface and deep water, leading the damage of lake ecosystem. To dispel the density stratification, several researches in using liquid and gas phase jet to destruct and mix the density stratification was conducted. The purpose of this study is to clarify the mixing behavior of density stratification with and without air lift pipe by gas-liquid two-phase jet with air lift pipe. We conducted the mixing experiment making density stratification using salt water with and without air lift pipe. The experimental parameters were total superficial velocity jT and volumetric flow ratio of the jet β, density difference between upper and lower layer Δρ and the distance between pipe’s entrance and the nozzle Hin. As a result, we discovered a mixing pattern with air lift pipe depending on the volumetric flow ratio. Further, comparing the mixing time, in particular experiment condition, the mixing performance with air lift pipe is not better than without air lift pipe.
