This paper describes the development of dual emission laser-induced fluorescence (DELIF) method using one fluorescent dye for long-term temperature measurement. One of the non-contact temperature measurement methods is the DELIF method. However, generally, DELIF method used two types of fluorescent dyes. Therefore, this method could not apply long-term measurement since the deterioration of fluorescent dyes with time was different. The proposed method used only one type of fluorescent dye. Rhodamine B solution was placed in an acrylic container and fluoresced by irradiating a blue LD laser light sheet (wavelength: 445 nm) from the under of the container. By using two monochrome cameras and band-pass filters, fluorescence intensities at two wavelengths were acquired simultaneously. Since fluorescence has a different temperature sensitivity depending on the wavelength range, temperature conversion can be done by taking the ratio of the two wavelength intensities. The excitation time had little effect on the fluorescence intensity ratio of rhodamine B. In the proposed method, the temperature resolution decreased with increasing temperature. The temperature resolution was less than 0.042 oC for the 589 nm/600 nm combination.
