The texturing of the friction surfaces is used to reduce friction force. But, due to the complexity of the friction reduction mechanism, the shape, size, and arrangement of textures are not been optimized. In this study, a numerical method for estimating the effect of surface texturing in the mixed lubrication region is proposed. This method is an application of the SPH method, where the pressure generated by the texture is calculated as the weighted sum of the pressures of nearby dimples. This method allows you to estimate the effects regardless of the shape, position, or size of the texture. The simulation results are compared with known experimental results.
