Abstract
In this paper, the measurement of surface temperature on human enamel by irradiation of Er:YAG laser beam is proposed. Surface temperature was measured using three-color pyrometer and the influence of the depth of thermal conduction to the dental pulp was investigated by FEM analysis. As a result, the surface temperature of human enamel increased as the laser power increased. The surface temperature of the human enamel ranged from 190℃ to 300℃. The surface temperature of human enamel reaches the room temperature at the depth of 0.14mm from the enamel surface.
