Abstract

Recently, several studies have examined a formulation relating to the relationship between lot size and energy consumption per production throughput in a manufacturing line with the aim of further reducing energy consumption per production throughput in industries. Conversely, small quantities of various products are produced, and there is variable lot size in manufacturing lines. However, there is a paucity of research related to production set-ups or management methods that consider variable lot size. Hence, the present study performs a formulation related to the lot size dependency of energy consumption per production throughout by considering variable lot size. Additionally, a simulation is conducted on a semiconductor manufacturing line, and the validity of the proposed formula is verified.
