Abstract
Regarding 10 Face Gear, the measuring method of the tooth thickness on a processing machine has not been established yet. As this solution, we propose the measuring method which uses a disk shape probe with edge to trace the tooth flank of Face Gear. This article shows the theoretical diameter of circle to contact with transverse theoretical tooth form of Face Gear. Then the relation with this diameter and the position of the tooth depth direction is described. And the evaluation procedure for the tooth thickness of Face Gear by using the position of measuring probe is shown. As the conclusion, the dimensional control for the tooth thickness of Face Gear on a processing machine can be possible.
