Elastic constants of piezoelectric materials at high temperatures are required for designing transducers and sensors that are exposed for high temperatures, because their operation frequency depends on the elastic constants. However, measurement of elastic constants at high temperatures is never straightforward, because conventional piezoelectric transducers that are used for measuring sound velocities and frequencies cannot be used above Curie temperature of transducers. Therefore, we propose use of an antenna that was originally developed for high temperature measurement. In this paper, we evaluate performance of the antenna by comparing to that of conventional transducer, and discuss its capability for high temperature measurements.
