Titanium oxide particles known as a photocatalytic material were treated by mechanochemical cavitation generated using an ejector nozzle (MC treatment). The titanium oxide particles of MC treatment were investigated on improving the photocatalytic properties under ultraviolet irradiation. MC treatment increases the amount of oxygen and hydrogen decomposed from water, and increases the amount of desorption gas such as water and nitrogen. Compared the first irradiation ultraviolet to the second ultraviolet irradiation, the amount of released gas decreases. The addition of platinum particles to oxide particles as co-catalyst, by ultraviolet irradiation increase the emissions of nitrogen gas. It is found that MC treatments would provide a cluster of titanium oxide particle by observation with a scanning electron microscope and image processing.
