Abstract
In order to investigate fatigue characteristics of a nonferrous bolt in ambient temperature and in 100℃ atmosphere, the axial fatigue test of the bolted joint tightened with A5056 aluminum alloy bolt, AZ31 magnesium alloy bolt and AZX912 magnesium alloy bolt were conducted. Creep tests were also conducted in this study. The results show that the axial fatigue limit of A5056 bolt was the highest regardless of the temperature. It is also show that the axial fatigue limit of AZ31 bolt and AZX912 bolt were half of the fatigue limit of A5056 bolt approximately. However elongation due to creep deformation occurs in 100℃ atmosphere for all bolts. Hence if we use the nonferrous bolt in high temperature, we have to pay attention to the clamping force reduction due to creep deformation.
